I’d love to start by saying how incredibly grateful I am for my time here at FSLSO! Every day I stepped foot in the office, I had the opportunity to learn something new and grow. I was not familiar with the Surplus Lines industry until I did some research before joining this astounding firm.
It was my first time stepping foot into Corporate America, and I was nervous. However, I was greeted with such kindness, and everyone, not just from my department, was accommodating as they were eager to introduce me to the industry. Additionally, people from various departments were very helpful and generous in taking the time to explain to me what they do, and they also gave me tasks that would help me enhance my skills! I was mainly working with the Analytics department and was truly excited to strengthen my analytics skills. I was very fortunate to work with Saketh Siripurapu, the Analytics Program Manager. He has taught me so much, especially when it comes to using data analytics software. He has given me tremendous tasks involving five different states along with S&P Capital IQ.
Another task that I was very grateful for was an operation project that I was assigned. It was a rigorous project, but I was very honored that he placed the task upon me. I was able to learn so much from different people who came from different backgrounds, as it taught me so much that life is not just a linear path. I hope that the project helped the future of FSLSO!
I, too, was very fortunate to get my hands on the 60-hour surplus lines course. It has helped me gain knowledge of the Surplus Lines Insurance Market. As I wrap up my final days at FSLSO, the person I was stepping foot into FSLSO and the person I am now are two different people. I have truly submerged myself with such knowledge not just for the Surplus Lines industry but also for my future career.
As for my next steps, I am still figuring that part out! I am curious about knowledge and experiences and excited to see where the future will take me. As for everyone I have worked with and had conversations with at FSLSO, a big THANK YOU to you all! You have made my stay very enjoyable and welcome, and I will miss you all very much! Thank you for this beautiful opportunity; I wish you much success and hope to see you all soon!
