Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Network and Security Administrator to join our dynamic team. The IT Network and Security Administrator will be responsible for administration of hybrid cloud systems and resources, and of SaaS services, including on-premises and cloud network, server, storage, and application systems to ensure high availability and security of supported business applications. This individual will also assist in the planning and implementation of information systems to ensure that provisioning, maintenance, security, and compliance are consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Systems & Network Administration

  • Administer directory and authentication solutions, including Active Directory and Microsoft 365 Azure AD/Entra ID, Duo, and AWS IAM.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 tenancy, including Exchange and SharePoint.
  • Administer Windows and Linux servers and appliances in a hybrid cloud environment, including AWS EC2 server instances, VMware VMs, and hardware appliances. (Experience with Linux is preferred but not required.)
  • Administer and maintain infrastructure resources, including network switches, wireless access points, firewalls, servers, and appliances. Knowledge and experience with Cisco Catalyst switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and VMware vCenter preferred.
  • Assist with Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune and AWS Systems Manager.
  • Manage the on-premises data center physical environment, including network and server racks, cabling, redundant power and HVAC, documentation, and labels. 

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure the security of server and network infrastructure resources by applying company and industry best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and maintain compliance with controls for regulatory frameworks, facilitating security audit preparedness.
  • Monitor and maintain Palo Alto firewall configuration, security policies, activity, and availability in hybrid cloud environment.
  • Assist with administration of enterprise security solutions, including Secureworks Taegis XDR, Carbon Black endpoint security, Admin by Request, and Duo.
  • Assist with research and remediation of identified security vulnerabilities affecting network infrastructure and endpoint resources. 

Documentation and Reporting

  • Contribute to network and computing asset documentation, including resource and component reference information, technical specifications, and configuration details.
  • Contribute to documentation of IT procedures, environment setup, standard operating procedures, and security best practices.
  • Assist with development of required reports in response to business users and management needs. 

Technology Assessment

  • Assist in evaluations, recommendations, and implementation of IT systems, services, and tools. 

Other

  • Participate in and support strategic planning of long-term IT strategic goals in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
  • Assist in the initiation, planning, execution, and closure of IT projects.
  • Participate in IT Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity preparedness and testing.
  • Assist with incident response activities, including tabletop exercises and live incidents.
  • Provide after-hours support for infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional weekends for maintenance.
  • Assist with urgent and high-priority issues as needed to support team members and business processes. 
  • Cross train with team members and staff on existing and new technologies.
  • Remain competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, attending training, conferences, and/or courses, and obtaining certifications relevant to job duties.
  • Carry out special tasks at Management's direction.   

Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree with a preferred discipline in one of the computer sciences or equivalent experience. 4+ years of network and security administration or related experience. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Experience owning, working with, and maintaining complex systems. 
  • Proficient in network infrastructure administration, including network and server security. 
  • Experience with hybrid network architecture and cloud platform services (AWS preferred). 
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365 accounts and authentication services. 
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent projects, both working independently and collaborating with others as needed.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Requires in-person workdays. Punctuality and consistent attendance during designated in-person workdays. 
  • Participation in face-to-face meetings, discussions, and collaborative sessions with colleagues, clients, or stakeholders as required.
