My experience at FSLSO has been unparalleled to any other academic/internship-related experience I have had as an FSU student thus far. I began this internship with only a couple semesters of risk management and insurance under my belt, as I initially got my bachelor's in international affairs. I was worried that my lack of experience would hinder my progress and ability to connect with people so well-established in the insurance field. However, my experience has reflected the exact opposite.
Through the course of 10 weeks, I was fortunate enough to shadow various members of the agent and insurer services team (AIS) and bolster my growing knowledge of surplus lines. The opportunities I was afforded in this program have introduced me to the wonderful and often wild world of surplus lines insurance, which I previously knew very little about. Helping me find my path, FSLSO has made me a more confident student, intern, and now insurance professional. I highly recommend this internship to any student interested in the field. FSLSO helped me find my career path and as a full-time member of the AIS team, I can confidently say that I wouldn’t be where I am without this opportunity.
