FSLSO in one summer has become a cornerstone in my insurance learning experience. The family environment FSLSO creates with its workplace culture cultivates positivity. Within my first day I felt like a valued member of the team. This only grew stronger through the summer as I built relationships with everyone in the office.
FSLSO being the service office for all things surplus lines truly provides a comprehensive experience allowing interns to learn about the surplus lines market in its entirety like no other way before.
During my time here I was able to complete multiple certifications, the largest one being the Florida Surplus Lines Insurance pre-licensing course. This is an expansive 60-hour course that is required and prepares those hoping to attain a surplus lines insurance license. FSLSO providing this course to me free of charge along with the phenomenal one-on-one training with the highly experienced employees here has enriched my education in the insurance field in a way that no classroom can.
FSLSO provided me with firsthand experience in the insurance field with the opportunity for on-site reviews where I got to travel to surplus lines agency offices and meet with and review prominent insurance agents writing policies in the state of Florida.
This internship has laid the groundwork for a successful insurance career catapulting me ahead of other students with its inclusive learning experience and I cannot thank the FSLSO family enough for the insight they have given me into the real world of surplus lines insurance and the personal skills I have gained from my time with this team.
